Leaving San Francisco on a typical overcast day. We wore our snow suits
Oce we were out of the bay the weather cleared up. Some dolphins swam off our bow, which is good luck for the jorney, but I couldn't capture them on the digital camera.
On the way in to Monterey the car that held the Dutchman boom brake let go in about 35knots of wind. I ended up having to drive all the way to Hanson's rigging in Alameda to borrow the tools and get the parts to fix it. Here I am with my improvised safety goggles.
When we were in the slip I heard a knocking on the hull. I went outside to find this character breaking muscles open on the gel coat. I told him to get lost. He just looked at me and with one hand cracked another muscle open on the boat.
My attempt at learning spanish.
This is the transient spot at Oxnard harbor. Nice place to stop.
